Bert Reames, CLU, aged 90, was recently presented with NAIFA-Daytona Beach’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
Reames has been a member of NAIFA since 1955 and currently serves as Chairman/CEO Emeritus for Reames Employee Benefits Solutions. After a stint in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and attending the University of Florida (1944-47), Reames moved to Daytona Beach from Gainesville and became a management trainee for Sears Roebuck. In 1955 he became a Special Agent and Division Manager for Prudential. Finally, in 1988, Reames became Chairman and CEO of Bert Reames Insurance Services.
According to NAIFA-Daytona Beach Vice President Hollis Inglett, Reames has earned many citations and recognition from various community, civic, and non-profit organizations in the Daytona Beach area. Just to name a few: Daytona Beach Lions Club, American Red Cross, Daytona Beach Rotary, United Negro College Fund, Florida Blue Key (UF), Halifax Home Health Board, Act Corp. (to benefit run-away kids), Coalition for the Homeless, and the Council on Aging – again, just to name a few.
To cap things off, in 2016 Reames was presented with an Honorary Doctorate of Law degree from Bethune-Cookman University.
