It is with great sadness that we share with you the news that past NAIFA-Florida President Wendy Barraco, CLU, ChFC, RFC passed away recently. She served as President in 2002-03, and locally, was President of the Broward South AIFA (which later merged with other local associations) in 1990-91 and 1991-92. Wendy also served as chair of the state’s PAC from 1998 to 2000.

Wendy K.F. Barraco died on 9/10/15 of cancer. Born to Ian and Kathleen Jenkins 10/21/42 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. She lived all over the world, settling in South Florida after meeting her husband, Pete, of 43 years while on vacation as a teenager in Miami Beach. She was educated at Roedean in England and was in the financial planning and insurance business from 1966 to 2013, while serving through the chairs of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors-Florida. She was active on many boards in the community, including the Broward County Fair and Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church, USA. Firstly, she was devoted to her family. She is survived by her brother Adrian Jenkins, children Peter Barraco (Lisa Agramonte) and Andrea Johnston (Patrick), grandchildren Corinne, Michael, Nikki, Kyle and Graham and great grandson Robbie as well as her many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Her greatest joy was spending time with them and taking great pride in their many accomplishments. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Recovery Ministries of the Episcopal Church, USA in her honor at episcopalrecovery.org.
Peter has advised that Memorial services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at The Church of St. Bernard de Clairvaux at 16711 West Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, FL 33160. The website is: www.spanishmonastery.com/#!church/c1xu8. A celebration of life will follow until 5:00 p.m.
