This month’s local association President profile is Tom Brophy, President of NAIFA-Tampa. Let’s get to know him:
Thomas E. Brophy is the Associate General Agent for the VIDA Group builder agency of Ohio National Financial Services in Tampa. In addition to the design and management of this new agency, his personal practice is devoted to retirement income, legacy planning, and specifically the unique needs of small and closely held family business.
A Certified Family Business Specialist and RICP, Tom advises business owners on protection, retention, and transition strategies with a focus on reducing risk, maximizing business value, and reducing future potential tax liabilities. He brings a wealth of experience in business management from Fortune 100 corporations to startups, including twenty years as the owner of a family business in the building industry.
A native of Connecticut, Tom is a graduate of Syracuse University. He lives with his wife Kimberly and their three children in Valrico. He believes strongly in avocation and education on behalf of his clients and the financial industry.
A self-confessed “political junkie”, Tom’s other interests include, travel, history, reading, writing, ice hockey, golf, gourmet cuisine, music, theater, comedy, and anything his marvelously-talented children are doing. He includes among his skill sets, his ability to adapt to challenges, love of learning, a wicked sense of humor, desire to teach, and his ability to listen to both sides.
Tom is an Investment Advisor Representative of ONIMCO and currently holds insurance licenses in Florida, Texas, Ohio, New York, Illinois, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin.
