Howard Rosenblatt, JD, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, AEP, a member of NAIFA-Gainesville, is to be honored with NAIFA-Florida’s C.G. Snead / J.F. Bryan, III Memorial Award for Outstanding Service, recognizing him as the “Financial Advisor of the Year” in Florida for 2018.
According to the Snead/Bryon Award committee chair and last year’s winner Bryon Holz, CLU, ChFC, LUTCF, CASL, LACP, the award will be presented at the NAIFA-Florida President’s Banquet as part of the Financial Advisors Sales Symposium and Annual Conference to be held in Orlando, July 19-20. Every year since 1958 the award has been presented to one insurance and financial advisor for outstanding service to their clients and to the industry.
A member of the Florida Bar since 1982, Rosenblatt focuses on estate planning, probate, guardianships and elder law. He is a 34-year Life member of MDRT and has served as president of the following organizations: NAIFA-Gainesville, North Central Florida Estate Planning Council, the Society of Financial Professionals, and the Clare Gehan chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. In 2014, he retired from AXA and now focuses on his law practice – of counsel to Bogin, Munns & Munns. He is currently the President and CEO of Florida Lawyers Legal Insurance Corp. (FLLIC) and co-founder and President of Florida Legal Insurance Plan (FLIP).
Rosenblatt is a native Floridian, born in Jacksonville in 1947. He received his B.A. from the University of Florida and graduated from UF law school in 1981, having been elected to Florida Blue Key and Omicron Delta Kappa. In 1982, he was asked to provide cantorial services to Congregation B’nai Israel in Gainesville, and did so for 26 years – where he is still a member.
In June 1985, Rosenblatt opened his own law firm in Gainesville – Howard M. Rosenblatt, P.A. – as he continued to expand his insurance and financial services practice. As an attorney, he chaired the Member Benefits and Prepaid Legal Insurance committees for The Florida Bar and also served on the Board of Directors for the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association.
Rosenblatt has several NAIFA awards and honors. He is a 21-time qualifier of the National Quality Award, a 12-time qualifier of the Health Insurance Quality Award, and was selected as NAIFA-Gainesville’s Agent of the Year four times (1974, 1984, 1987, 2002). He’s been a member of NAIFA since 1971 and served as Gainesville’s President in 1982-83 and 1983-84. In addition, he served as National Committeeperson in 2001-2007 and 2009-2013. He currently serves on NAIFA-Florida’s Political Committee (PC) where he is Envoy-level contributor.
“The Snead/Bryan selection committee is delighted with this year’s pick of Howard Rosenblatt. Over the years he has done an outstanding job of serving his clients, his community, and his professional association – NAIFA. There could not have been a better choice,” said Holz.
Rosenblatt is married to Eve Ackerman (42 years), and they have two adult sons – Raphael and Micah.
